Scalextric C3641 'Shell' Peugeot 205 T16 #7
In 1986, after Group B rallying was removed from the FIA regulations, Peugeot used their experience to develop the 205 T16 for the Paris-Dakar Rally and Pikes Peak Hillclimb. Their first attempt at Pikes Peak was in 1987 with the diminutive 205: the car that transformed Peugeot’s commercial fortunes after it was launched in 1983 and then went on to become a legend on the world rally stage thanks to the outlandish Group B T16 version. At Pikes Peak a trio of Peugeots went against Audi and their Walter Rohrl driven Sport quattro. Ari Vatanen in the #2 Peugeot got to the top of hill just seven seconds behind Rohrl who won the event.
Scalextric have modeled car #7 with A.VATANEN listed as the driver, in fact #7 was driven by Andrea Zanussi who finished 3rd.
